Relationship
The NAIS website serves as a central hub of resources and guidance for over 2,000 schools and associations in the US. Its primary functions are to attract new members, promote organizational events, and provide essential information for members and parents.
To modernize its digital presence and align with a new brand identity, NAIS migrated its website from the legacy Kentico Xperience 13 platform to the new Xperience by Kentico DXP. The project included a full website redesign and the implementation of a new UX/UI.
Project
The Challenge

The primary objectives were not only to create a website that incorporated the new brand and visual identity of the previous NAIS site, but also to address some of the issues with the previous architecture built on Kentico 13. Such as:

• To be up-to-date with the latest technology and security standards. Kentico 13 requires manual security patching and may not meet the latest compliance standards without custom work. XbyK offers enterprise-grade security with ISO 27001/SOC 2 compliance, continuous patching, and built-in WAF/DDoS protection. Kentico 13 can expose organizations to security risks if not diligently maintained, while XbyK provides proactive, out-of-the-box security.

• Improved performance and scalability. Kentico 13's monolithic architecture can cause performance limitations under high traffic. In contrast, XbyK is designed for cloud-native scalability. Consequently, Kentico 13 may struggle during traffic spikes, while XbyK handles growth efficiently.

• Marketing automation and content management. Kentico 13 is built for traditional web content management, with limited native support for headless or multichannel delivery. XbyK features a Content Hub for centralized content and supports hybrid headless delivery (e.g., web, email, mobile apps). This provides advanced features for personalized customer experiences and improved marketing automation. This will help NAIS to create a marketing strategy for the next few years, and even after the official release, the website can be refined by following the new XbK capabilities included in this DXP platform's development roadmap.

Additionally, Byteminds has concluded the discovery phase, resulting in a backlog of estimated and prioritized user stories for Phase 1 of the website's development. Our previous experience redesigning and replatforming the NAIS Members Directory page on Xperience by Kentico was instrumental in this process.

Furthermore, the team faced the challenge of automatically migrating the majority of the content. This approach was essential to save the team manual entry time given the vast amount of content on the site and to minimize content freeze time during launch.
